The Tricks to Building Muscle by Patrick Schwarzenegger
You may have read your fair share of weight loss tips and journeys already but what comes after that? You may want to consider building some muscle next! After all, we all benefit from a little bit of mass in our bodies.
Patrick Arnold Shriver Schwarzenegger is an American actor and model born to Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver. As one of the most famous names in fitness, the actor and model makes sure that when it comes to working out he doesn’t focus on one thing too much such as lifting weights. In a new interview with GQ, Schwarzenegger revealed exactly how he’s working to get fitter and healthier this year.
“It’s a lot of free weights, at certain angles to help take the pressure off my shoulder for increasing the weight load. We go for about an hour and fifteen. That includes a 10-15 minute warmup doing some body movements and band work and warming up my shoulder so I don’t get hurt,” Schwarzenegger explains. Ultimately, it isn’t just working out, he has a lot integrated into his routine that helps him out.
He starts his day with protein.
The secret to any routine is starting the day right. In Schwarzenegger’s case, he prefers to not eat a full breakfast until 10 am., he just takes snacks before his workout. He starts with beet juice, almonds, or a protein bar, as well as “a little bit of caffeine.” After all, we all benefit from a little bit of caffeine boost in the morning.
Second, he drinks three smoothies a day.
We’re all familiar with how helpful protein shakes are for building muscle when working out. To keep his calorie intake up, Schwarzenegger takes this tip and has his drinks at a specific routine. After his morning workout, he takes a “big smoothie at 7:30 with peanut butter and banana, sometimes oatmeal, chia seeds, flax seeds, bone broth protein, whey protein, and plant protein mixed,” and then he takes two more throughout the day.

Schwarzenegger doesn’t forget to indulge on the weekends.
Working out doesn’t mean you have to beat yourself up over it or you have to sacrifice the food that makes you happy. While discipline is important, diet can be discouraging if you completely give up on your happy foods.
“Usually I do banana pancakes, ice cream pretty much every night, and just eat whatever I want,” including burgers, fries, and chicken tenders, the star explains. If you want to know more about indulging while on a diet, consider reading ____’s healthy habits.
