Pinchot’s Journey to Lose Weight
Bronson Pinchot, an actor from the United States is best known for his appearance as Balki Bartokomous on the television series, which aired from 1986 to 1993 and followed the relationship of Chicago resident Larry Appleton (Mark Linn-Baker) and his distant European cousin Balki Bartokomous.
Pinchot says he feels “great” after losing 4 stone during the lockdown. The 61-year-old Perfect Strangers star revealed his dramatic weight loss transformation to Page Six earlier this month, revealing that after focusing on his fitness for several months, he can now fit into clothes he wore in his twenties.
Pinchot started his weight-loss journey in the year 2020. The man, who played Balki Bartokomous in the TV show, said he was inspired to lose weight nearly a year ago in May after seeing a picture of himself on the 2017 reality show Battle of the Network Stars and seeing “an old fat person.””
Pinchot immediately began his quest to lose weight, beginning with a deep-cleanse of his pantry and refrigerator, which included throwing out all junk food and replacing it with “fresh food in the kitchen.” And it worked! He now follows a vegan diet and compares others who are trying to lose weight to puppies in need of control, he convinced himself that he needed to lose weight. He said “‘OK, puppy, you can have whatever’s there.'” Looks like calling himself a puppy works too.
It wasn’t easy for Pinchot to lose 4 stone, and he admitted that he struggled at first. Sleeping was difficult for the actor because he was experiencing hunger pains. “At some stage in any good diet, you really can feel yourself eating yourself,” he wrote on Instagram. Pinchot, on the other hand, persisted, and his perseverance has paid off. The actor, who has struggled with his weight since he was 5, can now fit into the clothes he wore three decades ago when he starred in Perfect Strangers. Pinchot discovered it after opening a storage box that had been sitting unused for 25 years.
“And I just took off my clothes and put them on and they fit, And I thought, ‘I’m pretty sure I’m the only 61-year-old within a 10-mile radius that’s getting into his clothes from when he was a 26-year-old doing two aerobics classes a day.’ And that feels pretty good. That feels pretty good.” The actor said.
Pinchot claims he isn’t running because he wants to see if he can keep his weight in check without doing cardio. The actor told his fans that he feels “light, flexible, balanced, hydrated, and confident” after losing weight. He’s also been offering words of encouragement to those who aspire to follow in his footsteps. If you want to lose weight, time to call yourself a puppy.
