Ayesha Curry’s Impressive 35lbs Weight Loss During the Pandemic
Ayesha Curry is a Canadian-American actress, entrepreneur, cookbook author, and cooking television personality. To those unfamiliar with her stunning career as a personality in the media, you may have heard of her surname before. She is also the wonderful wife and source of strength of the professional basketball player, Stephen Curry.
Her life has been very eventful and due to the huge amount of work she has to do, she admits that like a lot of us, she has neglected her own health.
“I started my fitness journey because I wanted to be strong and healthy for myself and the people who depend on me. But it was important that I did it my way, which meant I needed working out to fit in my life, NOT take me away from it,” Curry captioned an Instagram photo. “So I went to work finding ways to incorporate healthy habits into my busy schedule, and picked up a few tricks along the way.”
To help keep up with the routine and remind herself of what she has to do, Curry tracks her food intake using the Fitbit app. She revealed to Yahoo Canada Lifestyle that she tries to sip on at least 32 ounces of cucumber and lemon water before noon each day to stay hydrated, something that’s easy enough for us to follow.
She said that she isn’t about eliminating all indulgences, and she makes sure to keep eating her comfort food such as the ones she and Stephen Curry adores. Her weekdays start with coffee and includes plenty of veggies, protein and whole grains.
“I typically will indulge in a cocktail or a glass of wine while I’m cooking dinner for the kids,” Curry shared at EatingWell, adding, “give me a classic In-N-Out cheeseburger with grilled onions all day.”
Family favourites such as the chicken parm is among her list of comfort foods and it is also a family favourite. She mentioned that it’s a fairly basic dish but it’s also one of the first things she made for Stephen when they were dating, so it’s nostalgic. To make it fit her new wellness-minded lifestyle, Curry coats the chicken in panko instead of regular bread crumbs and smothers it in a homemade fresh tomato sauce.
Besides making improvements in her diet, she has been using Fitbit Premium workouts at home. She enjoyed the workouts so much that she made a series for the app with easy workout videos including circuits focused on the arms, core, legs/glutes and a stretch session.
Like most celebrities that are already very active in their normal everyday life, Curry only had to make a few changes to her lifestyle during the pandemic. In addition to working hard and having sweaty activities, she made sure she watched her food intake, stayed healthy and happy. After all, losing weight isn’t just something we have to work on physically but mentally as well and Curry is a great example of seeing how happy she is with her family!
