Alan Carr – Fatty Man

Alan Carr has gone on record recently discussing his three stone weight gain. The comedian is currently one of the best presenters on TV and isn’t afraid of making fun of himself. The portly 44-year-old laughed like a hyena as he revealed he gave in to the temptations of overindulgence during the first two lockdown restrictions. Now in the third one, the funnyman knows he needs to be careful.

Alan Graham Carr is not only an English comedian, but he is also a television personality, radio presenter, and writer. Carr was born in Weymouth, Dorset. His big break was in 2001, winning the City Life Best Newcomer of the Year and the BBC New Comedy Awards. Carr is often seen as a team captain on 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown. He became a judge on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK in 2019. Alan is to front a new BBC interior design show in the coming weeks.

Discussing his size, he says: “I have been eating any olds**t. I think I have put on about three stone. You see skinny people on Instagram, and they only have a slice of banana bread, but I was eating the whole lot.

“”I did put on a lot of lockdown weight. You will see a gap where people will think, ‘What the hell has he eaten because he has ballooned?’

“For my birthday, I went to put on my jeans, and I said to my husband, ‘Paul, you have put your jeans on my shelf.’ But he hadn’t. I looked at them and realized they were a 36-inch waist. I couldn’t get them around my stomach.”

The comedian has even had a bet with pal Judge Rob Rinder to see who could shed the most weight.

“I rang Rob up last year and said, ‘I am fat.’ He said, ‘I am fat.’ So we sent each other pictures, and both agreed we were fat. We decided whoever had lost the least amount of weight by November 2nd would pay for dinner. I saw a picture of him, and he is back to being skinny, and so if there was anything good to come out of the lockdown, it was I couldn’t see him.”

Alan said he knew something was amiss when he put on his 36-inch waist jeans recently and couldn’t fit them over his stomach.

Asked if he will have the covid jab when over-40s are eligible, he says: “Well, the amount of weight I have put on, I am in one of those groups that have it earlier.”

Alan Carr stands at around 5 foot 8 inches and is estimated to weigh around 16 stone, making him obese. A weight loss of around three stone would bring him to around the 13 stone mark and much closer to a healthier BMI. Carr could even lose a stone or two more to bring him into the normal BMI range.
